Michael R. Moritz, Managing Partner, M&A and Consulting Services
BACKGROUND
Now focused on the small, mid-market, entrepreneurial business sectors, Mike considers himself extremely fortunate to have begun his business career working in Corporate America. That was when large corporations invested significantly in the ongoing business training and education of employees. These experiences provided a solid foundation for understanding what makes great companies excel, as well as why some companies do not perform as well as they could or should.
The first-half of his career was primarily focused in the high-velocity world of the US information technology sector, including executive positions with Digital Equipment Corporation. He then joined Dun & Bradstreet Information Services where he was the youngest corporate officer in the 150-year history of the company. It was there -- with responsibilities that included 20,000+ customers -- that he developed his lifelong dedication to working with entrepreneurs.
Mike co-founded The Prairie Company, N. A. in 1990 with the mission of guiding entrepreneurial CEOs to market, including comprehensive revenue and fund-raising services. Since that time, he has helped raise hundreds of millions of dollars in funding and revenues for companies and clients. He has served in executive, board- and officer-level positions, and provided advisory services across a wide variety of companies and industries in both domestic and international arenas.
Mike completed his undergraduate work at Southern Illinois University and earned an MBA from Lake Forest College . Additionally, he has participated in many executive courses over the years and is a registered financial services advisor representative and securities agent with a Series 63 license. He and his wife of 20+ years, Katy, presently live in the Chicago area. |
